Celebration

My little dancing/singing boy...Presenting Emerson!

Well Hello there

Lookie what our friends found by our front door the other night....isn't it pretty?

RIP Big Scary Black Widow Spider
(Isaac torched the sucker!)

I fought with the Mountain....

and the mountain won. I have heard the mountain always wins....

Early last Saturday morning (the same morning we headed out car shopping, see post below) Sarah, my running partner and I decided to go for an 8 mile run. It would be my first 8 miler and I was extremely excited (I am training for a half marathon at the end of October). It was still pretty dark out when we left so Sarah's very nice husband decided to run with us until it got light enough. We started our run on a mountain train near our home. We were talking and chatting away when the mountain decided to pick a fight with me without any warning what so ever and it tripped me! Mean Mountain trail! (Ok so I wasn't 100 percent watching my feet and didn't pick up my feet quite as high as I needed to, but it is still the mountains fault!) What a trip I had, it was a full on slide into home plate, hitting my head to finish it off. Oh man it hurt, I literally saw stars and thought I was going to pass out. Thankfully, Sarah and her husband were close by so they came back to analyze the situation. I was bleeding but wasn't sure where, I was scraped and battered. It looked like I had gotten the snot beat out of me. Finally I was able to locate the bleeding, (a nice deep cut near my elbow) and get my head to kind of stop spinning. We luckily were only a mile into the run so I was able to hobble back home with Sarah close by (thanks Sarah!). When I got home I surveyed the damage (now almost a week later I wish I would of taken pictures, because man it was bad) My left knee was all scraped up, as was my right arm and right side of my face. I even was rewarded with a nice shiner (my first one ever!). Anyway, what a day. I looked so incredible when we went car shopping but by the end of the day was laughing about the trip I took. Moral of the Story....don't take on the mountain because the mountain always wins!

Bittersweet Goodbye

On Friday September 18th we lost a important member of our family....our 2002 Chevy Mailbu. It was involved in an unfortunate accident while Isaac was driving home from work.. Thankfully no one was hurt but the front end of the car was smashed beyond repair. We got the official word on the following Tuesday when the Allstate claims guy pronounced her dead after an extensive look over. We said our final goodbye that day, with a tear in my eye.
It was the first car Isaac and I had bought and paid for as a couple. It carried our 3 precious boys on countless road trips to and from various destinations. It was a good car and she will be sorely missed. But this tale has a happy ending....
We got to UPGRADE!!!!!! After extensive research via online and word of mouth (thanks to all for the information) Isaac and I were ready to hit dealerships anxious to find a good deal and a new van. So early Saturday the 26th, we dropped out children off at Aunt Anna and Uncle Ben's (thanks soooo much!!!) home and off we went, market values in hand and ready to haggle.
Our first stop we drove a 2008 Toyota Sienna and loved it. Very comfortable and quiet. The dealership wasn't very friendly so we decided to take our business elsewhere. Through a friend of my brothers we were referred to a dealership up in Bountiful area, Murdock Chevrolet. We were attacked the minute we got out of the van (thanks Mom for letting us borrow that too!) and promptly taken to the salesman we were referred to, Pete Call, nice guy! Anyway, long story short... we tried several things and finally found the van of our dreams, well almost (doesn't have DVD player, poor Eli). It is a 2008 Silver Toyota Sienna, it fits 8 and has power doors and some other little features. We love it! It is so quiet on the road, very comfy and we got it for a good deal.
So although we had to say goodbye, we are happy that we were able to find something nice within our price range to fill the void. So hello and welcome Sasha to the family! (picture to follow shortly!)
