Due Date

I have decided I hate due dates...yep I do. Today, I was due to have this baby, but yet here it is 10:45pm and I still have no baby to hold. I know I need to have patience, but my tired, swollen body is ready to be done. I was ambitious today, I got up and walked 3miles, cleaned the kitchen and rearranged some kitchen cabinets. I wanted to scrub the bathroom, but ran out of time. Then went on a 2nd 2 mile walk tonight. Guess I just have to wait a little longer. The only consolation I get (if I can call it that) is that he will be here by this time next week, since I am scheduled for an induction on the 30th, (hopefully I will not be keeping that appointment). Anyway, thanks for listening to my whining and hope you all had a happy Pioneer day!

Riding a Bike and Loosing a Tooth

Eli has recently had 2 firsts. He learned how to ride a bike without training wheels (pretty much all on his own) and he lost his first tooth.
Eli has been practicing for some time on his bike, but since we live on a nice steep hill there is not much room for practicing. Patience and hard work paid off as he came in the other day and proudly exclaimed "I know how to ride a bike". I was so proud and here is the video of my big boy!

He also lost his first tooth a few days later. He has been playing and wiggling this tooth since about the end of May and finally it was loose enough to pull out. He got to choose who he wanted to pull it out (Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, or Granny) all were there for the occasion. He chose Granny and with some gauze and a little tug it came out without a problem. The generous tooth fairy then left him $1. Now he is anxiously waiting for more teeth to start to wiggle

37 1/2 weeks and counting down

I had my 37 week appointment today. For the past 4 weeks I have been measuring about 2 weeks above my due date (so at 34 weeks measuring 36). Well this week I went in and I was measuring 5 weeks. The midwife thought it would be a good idea to go and check things out to see why I was so big! Off to the utlrasound room I went. I got to see little"Bob" (that is what we are calling him since we haven't finalized on a name yet) and the ultrasound showed that I had a lot of amniotic fluid and that he was already measuring 8lbs 3 oz!!!! This got me a little worried since Eli was 8 lbs 4 oz full term and they had to use suction to get him out. They decided to wait another week and do another ultrasound next Monday and if he is in the 90% they will probably go ahead and induce. Guess I better get my backside in gear and get everything done this week, just in case. Oh man we grow them big!

Brush, Brush, brush your hair

The other night Isaac was combing Eli's hair and Eli making a variation on "Row, Row, Row your boat" came up with the following song:
"Brush, Brush,. Brush, your hair, Brush it everyday...If you brush it good enough the girls will stay near....Oh wait that doesnt rhyme."
Oh boy are we in trouble!

( We also use a variation of this song fro brushing the kids teeth.)

Poor Kitty

This is what I found the twins doing the other day in Grandma and Grandpas room. They were taking all the dog toys and piling them on Baby (their cat). Surprisingly she let them do it. They then moved to the chihuahuas...didn't get a camera picture of them, but it was pretty funny.

Schools Out for Summer....bummer

Eli finished Kindergarten....he passed (not that I was worried)! He had an amazing teacher this year, Mrs. Barlow. We loved her, and both Eli and I learned so much from her. He made some great friends and had a good time, on most days. Now comes the long 3 months that he is home all the time. I will be hopefully planning lots of play dates, trips to the library, swim lessons, and trips to the pool. We are looking forward to Granny coming out in July!!! (Eli chose the text color, he loves pink because the river of slime in Ghostbusters 2 is pink, go figure!)

Diorama Day..Eli had to choose an animal and make a diorama about it. He chose a Chihuahua since my parents have 2 of them.

Born to ROCK!

After a LONG day with the boys...they made up for their crankiness by being totally adorable!
